The Yugoslavian Railway's Class 20 were a series of 2-6-0 "Mogul" steam engines. About 243 of these locomotives were built between 1912 and 1922 by Hanomag, Borsig, AEG, Krauss and Henschel & Son between 1912 and 1922.

Service in Albania[]

In 1946, 2 of them came to Albania, 20-132 and 20-136. Around 1960 these two locomotives were taken out of service.

Preserved[]

Of the 243 locomotives that were built only five known members of this class have been preserved in one form or another.

  • 20-100 (ex SHS 6100) is currently preserved in Niš, Serbia.
  • 20-149 (ex SHS 6149) is currently preserved in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
  • 20-183 (ex SHS 6183) is currently preserved in Trebnje, Slovenia.
  • 20-184 (ex SHS 6184) is currently preserved in Jasenovac, Croatia.
  • 20-196 (ex SHS 6196) is currently preserved in Sombor, Serbia.

Trivia[]

  • A Yugoslavian Railway's Class 20 locomotive was featured in the films "Amok Train" (aka Beyond the Door 3), Twist of Fate (1989), and The Dirty Dozen: The Fatal Mission (1988).
