Western Pacific No. 485 was a GS-64 4-8-4 "Northern" Steam Locomotive that was built by Lima Locomotive Works in 1943. Originally built for the Southern Pacific but it was given to the Western Pacific Railroad instead because of the war. 485 spent its life hauling passenger trains and in freight for the WP. It last run in October 1951, it was given to the SP along with 484 & 481. The engine was scrapped in 1953 when the SP gave up on steam.
