Locomotive Wiki

The Union Pacific No. 4436 is a Class S-5 0-6-0 switcher steam locomotive that was built as a coal burner for the Union Pacific Railroad by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA, in 1918.

It worked at various locations in Nebraska until WWII, when it was moved to the Portland, OR, area.

It was still there as late as October 1957, and may have been the last steam locomotive assigned to Evanston.

The locomotive was retired from service in 1958 and it was donated to City of Ogden, UT.

Today, the locomotive is preserved on static display at the Ogden Union Station Museum in Ogden, Utah.
