Union Pacific No. 3975 was a class 4664-4 4-6-6-4 Challenger Steam Locomotive, built in 1943 by the American Locomotive Co. for Union Pacific railroad. The Challengers were designed & primarily used for freight service, but occasionally assigned to passenger duty through the mountains of California and Oregon. The locomotive was renumbered 3708 in 1952, pulled its last "revenue" train in 1957 and scrapped in 1960.
