The "Sewanee" was one of the first engines run on the Mountain Goat rail line, which connected the coal mines of Grundy County with the main line at Cowan.

The Sewanee is a type of 4-4-0 "American Standard" steam locomotive that was built in 1855 and worked for the Tennessee Coal, Iron & Railroad Company where it worked as a switcher.

This was one of the first engines run on the Mountain Goat rail line, which connected the coal mines of Grundy County with the main line at Cowan.

The locomotive was scrapped shortly after when it was retired.
