Thames is an LB&SCR A1 class 0-6-0 "Terrier" tank engine built in 1876 at Brighton Works for passenger work. Thames is most know for vanishing after being sold to a tramway in Argentina.

History[]

Built in 1876 at Brighton Works, Thames worked on the LBSCR doing a mix of passenger work and shunting, until the arrival of bigger, stronger engines, when she and her sisters were demoted to short branch passenger trains and light shunting duties. She was later sold to Pauling & Co. for £670 on May 1902. Later she was used in the construction of the Northolt - High Wycombe extension of the Great Central Railway's Chiltern Line. After this Pauling & Co sold her to La Plata Tramways in Argentina in 1909. It is unknown what happen to her after this to this day we don't even know if he was scrapped. But an unidentified Terrier was observed at working at La Plata in March 1920.
