Locomotive Wiki

Southern Railway No. 107 is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in November 1887 for the Southern Railway. It is one of the oldest Southern Railway steam locomotives surviving in preservation.

In 1961, it was sold to the Silver Dollar City Tennessee amusement park, later known as Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and placed on outdoor static display at the park's main entrance and information center. It was the only standard gauge steam locomotive owned by Dollywood until January 2025 when it was recently sold off to the Knoxville & Holston River Railroad in Knoxville, Tennessee. This was done in exchange for hurricane recovery supplies and relief after Hurricane Helene struck the nearby states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina between September 24th and 29, 2024.

Once the locomotive gets shipped over to its new home, it will be evaluated for a possible restoration to operating condition to operate excursion runs on the Three Rivers Rambler excursion trains alongside their two other operable steam locomotives, those being Washington & Lincolnton 2-8-0 No. 203, nicknamed Lindy, and Southern Railway 2-8-0 No. 154.
