Southern Pacific No. 9951 was a GE U50 that was built by General Electric (GE) for the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Southern Pacific No. 9951 was constructed by General Electric (GE) for the Southern Pacific Railroad and it was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad the same year it was constructed.

When built, it was first numbered as #8501, but it would be renumbered to #9551 and renumbered again to #9951.

It could reach a top speed of 70 mph (110 km/h), had a power output of 5,000 hp (3,700 kW), had a starting tractive effort of 160,000 lbf (710 kN) and had a continuous tractive effort of 139,500 lbf (621 kN).

It was retired from active service on the Southern Pacific Railroad it was sadly scrapped
