Southern Pacific No. 9505 was an EMD SD45X diesel locomotive built by the Electro-Motive Division for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1971.

Southern Pacific No. 9505 was manufactured in 1971 as an EMD demonstrator unit where it was numbered by the Electro-Motive Division as 4203, it was eventually delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad in December 1972 and was classified by the Southern Pacific as a EF642-2.
No. 9504 was retired from active service on the Southern Pacific Railroad in June 1984 and it was sadly scrapped in 1992.
