Southern Pacific No. 9500 was an EMD SD45X diesel locomotive built by the Electro-Motive Division for the Southern Pacific Railroad in August 1970.

Southern Pacific No. 9500 was manufactured in August 1970 and was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad that same year in 1970 and was classified by the Southern Pacific as a EF642-1.
No. 9500 was retired from active service on the Southern Pacific Railroad in June 1984 and it was sadly scrapped.
