Southern Pacific No. 4456 was a class GS-4 4-8-4 "Northern" type steam locomotive built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1942.
It was used to haul passenger trains on the Southern Pacific Railroad, but it also did freight service.
4456 was retired from active service in 1958 and sold for scrap later that same year.
