The Southern Pacific No. 4443 is a class GS-4 4-8-4 "Northern" type steam locomotive built by the Lima locomotive works in 1941 for the Southern Pacific railroad.

The locomotive was used for passenger service for the Southern Pacific railroad for much of it's career.

No. 4443 pulled one of the final steam excursions on the Southern Pacific in 1957 and then later it was retired.

In 1958, one year later No. 4443 was sold for scrap.

  • It occasionally did freight service when it’s needed.
  • It once made the honor of hauling a rare milage fan trip.
