Southern Pacific No. 4430 was the first member of the GS-4 class ever built by Lima Locomotive Works in 1941.
Accident[]
Around 70mph, No. 4430 hit a tanker truck and making it derailed, leaving it damaged around the skyline casing and the front. It is unknown if it was repaired or scrapped. But it is most likely that it was repaired, then scrapped later on after the locomotive was likely taken out of service.
