The Southern Pacific No. 4416 is a first locomotive of the class GS-3 a semi-streamlined 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive built in 1937 by the Lima Locomotive Works for the Southern Pacific Railway.
The locomotive was used for high-speed passenger service on the Southern Pacific Railway at the time, the Coast Daylight.
It was also used for freight service when it's needed, and made occasional appearances on the San Joaquin Daylight.
In 1957 it was retired and it was sold for scrap.

- This is the first GS-3 locomotive built for the Southern Pacific.
- It was first received the orange and red "Daylight" paint scheme, and later painted black, had the side skirting removed for easier maintenance.
- In 1940 it was Featured in "Midnight Limited" but it was painted black.
- It had an appearance similar to the Southern Pacific GS-2 locomotives, but had larger drivers than the GS-2s.
