Southern Pacific No. 3696 was a Class F-4" 2-10-2 'Santa Fe' type steam locomotive that was owned and operated by the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP). It was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March 1922 as part of an order for SP made up of locomotives Numbers 3668-3717 that were delivered between January to April in 1922.
It worked for the SP until it was retired in February 1955 and was sold in March of that year for scrap to Purdy in Los Angeles, California where it was cut up at an unknown date.
