Southern Pacific No. 2467 is a P-8 class 4-6-2 "Pacific" type steam locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in January 1921 for the Southern Pacific Railroad (SP). It was designed to haul passenger trains on the SP until it was withdrawn from service in 1956.
In 1960, No. 2467 was donated to the city of Oakland, CA and was placed on static display at the Harrison Railroad Park.
In the early 1990s, No. 2467 was restored to operating condition by a group called the "Friends of the 2467". It ran in operation pulling excursion trains until August 2005 when No. 2467 was subsequently towed back to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, CA, where a long-term loan was signed to keep the locomotive in storage at the CSRM's property.
As of 2023, No. 2467 is still stored serviceable while being displayed inside the CSRM's main hall with the chances of it running in operation again anytime soon being unlikely.
