Southern Pacific No. 1533 was an EMD SD7R that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Southern Pacific Railroad in August 1953.

History[]

Southern Pacific No. 1533 was built in August 1953 originally as an EMD SD7 for the Southern Pacific Railroad and was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad that same year in 1953.

Upon being delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad, it was originally numbered as #5321, but would later be renumbered to #2728 and then renumbered to #1428. It would be rebuilt into an EMD SD7R and renumbered to #1533 in April 1980.

It remained in service on the Southern Pacific until it would be retired from service. It was last photographed in 2013 at Turlock, California alongside ATSF 1331 in a derelict condition and had graffiti on it.[1]

As of today, its currently under ownership of Dieselmotive Company, Inc./Bruggere and Monson Railroad (BUGX) where it still retains its number of #1533.[2]
