Southern Pacific No. 1531 was an EMD SD7R that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1953.

Southern Pacific No. 1531 was built in 1953 and entered service on the Southern Pacific Railroad the same year in 1953, but was first numbered as 5286 where it was classified by the Southern Pacific as a DF-114, it would be renumbered as 2707 and reclassified as ES615-1. In 1965 before it would be renumbered yet again to 1407 in 1974 and retained its classification of ES615-1.
In 1980, it would be rebuilt into what would officially become No. 1531, where it was given the classification of ES615R-1, it would be retired from service and was sold in 1995. It was sadly scrapped in 1998.

- Although Southern Pacific No. 1531 didn't survive into preservation, Southern Pacific No. 1518 is still around today and currently resides at the Illinois Railway Museum.
