Southern Pacific No. 1521 was an EMD SD7E that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Southern Pacific Railroad.

Southern Pacific No. 1521 was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad and was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad that same year.
When it was first built, it was first numbered as 5316.
It remained in service on the Southern Pacific until it would be retired from service and was sadly scrapped.

- Although Southern Pacific No. 1521 didn't survive into preservation, Southern Pacific No. 1518 is still around today and currently resides at the Illinois Railway Museum.
