Southern Pacific No. 1511 was an EMD SD7R that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1953.

History[]

Southern Pacific No. 1511 was built in 1953 and entered service on the Southern Pacific Railroad the same year in 1953, but was first numbered as 5309 where it was classified by the Southern Pacific as a DF-117, it would be renumbered as 2716 and reclassified as ES615-3. In 1973 before it would be renumbered yet again to 1416 in 1974 and retained its classification of ES615-4.

In 1979, it would be rebuilt into what would officially become No. 1511 being designated as an EMD SD7R, where it was given the classification of ES615R-1, it would be retired from service in 1995 and would be sold off. The current whereabouts of No. 1511 are unknown.
