Southern Pacific No. 1006 is an EMD SW1 that was built by the Electro-Motive Division for the Southern Pacific Railroad.

History[]

Southern Pacific No. 1006 was constructed by the Electro-Motive Division and it was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad that same year it was constructed.

No. 1006 had served well on the Southern Pacific Railroad until it was retired from service and has survived into the preservation movement where it was donated to the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris, California.

As of today, No. 1006 is currently in operational at the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris, California.
