Santa Fe No. 2546 was a CF7 diesel locomotive that was first built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division (EMD) as an EMD F7 unit, but was later rebuilt at the ATSF's own Cleburne, Texas Shops into what had became an ATSF CF7.

History[]

Santa Fe No. 2546 was first constructed 1949 and was delivered to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway that same year as an EMD F7 unit, it served well until 1973 when it would be taken to Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway's own Cleburne, Texas Shops and was rebuilt into one of the 233 members of the ATSF CF7.

It was back in service on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway after being converted from an EMD F7 into an ATSF CF7. It would eventually be retired from the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway's roster and was donated to the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, Kentucky.

As of today, Santa Fe No. 2546 is currently operational in running condition at the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, Kentucky.
