No. 783 Sir Gillemere was a King Arthur class 4-6-0 steam locomotive that was built for the Southern Railway by the North British Locomotive Company in August, 1925.

On 22 January 1955, No. 30783 Sir Gillemere collided with H15 No. 30485 at Bournemouth Central station after its driver misread signals. No. 30783 was subsequently repaired but the H15 was condemned and later cut up.
It was withdrawn from service in March 1961 and was subsequently scrapped.
