The SJ Slass E were a class of 0-8-0 steam locomotives built by Nohab, Motala, Atlas and Falun for Statens Järnvägar from 1907 to 1920. They were intended to be use on both passenger and goods train in Norrland and heavy goods train in southern Sweden.
They remained in active service until March 1972 when steam operations on SJ came to an end. Most of them were then placed into the strategic reserve.
