Rock Island No. 1644

Rock Island No. 1644 is a 2-8-0 built by Alco-Brooks in 1903.

It was converted into a heavy 2-8-0 switch engine and was renumbered to #444.

Trivia

• It was one of the steam locomotives from the first ground of 2-8-0s acquired by the CR&P.
• The 1600s were delivered with "Mailbox" whistles.
