D&RGW No. 462 was a K-27 class 2-8-2 "Mikado" type narrow gauge steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, PA in 1903 for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad (D&RG), later known as the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW).
It served in both passenger and freight service on the D&RGW narrow gauge system until it was retired in 1950. Unfortunately, it was later scrapped shortly after its retirement. However, its tender has been preserved and is currently in storage at the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS) in Chama, NM. Also, sister class K-27 locomotives 463 and 464 have both been preserved as well, with 463 operating at the C&TS and 464 operating at the Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee Township, MI, near Flint.
