No. 742 "Lukee" is 0-4-2T narrow-gauge tank engine steam locomotive built by Kerr Stuart & Company Ltd of Stoke-on-Trent, England in 1901 that is based off of their "Skylark" design. "Lukee" was originally dispatched to India in 1901 before being returned to Kerr Stuart & Co. for rebuilding and was subsequently delivered to Mt Zeehan Silver & Lead Mines, Zeehan, Tasmania in 1903.
"Lukee" was sold in 1921 to the South Australian Government for use on the Cobdogla Tramway. It was resold in 1924 to the Victoria State Rivers & Water Supply Commission for use on the Red Cliffs Tramway before finally being retired from service in 1954. The locomotive was saved for preservation and was plinthed in a Red Cliffs park.
After many years of being plinthed, "Lukee" was restored to operational condition by the Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway Inc. in 1992 for use on their two kilometer section of the former 1600mm gauge Red Cliffs - Morkalla branch line, which has since been converted to 610mm gauge for tourist train operations.
"Lukee" is still currently operational as one of two working engines at the Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway in Victoria, Australia pulling tourist trains every first Sunday of the Month except January and February.
