The Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway (RCHSR) is a narrow-gauge heritage railway located on the corner of the Calder Highway and Millewa Road Red Cliffs and is approximately two kilometers from the Red Cliffs township in Victoria, Australia.

History[]

The RCHSR was formed in 1994 under the auspices of the Red Cliffs Rotary who were interested in preserving and operating the steam locomotive that once hauled coal and briquettes from the Red Cliffs railway siding to the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission pumping station on the Murray River.

The main attraction is the Kerr Stuart 0-4-2T steam locomotive named 'Lukee', built in 1901 and restored to operating condition after being on static display in Red Cliffs since 1953. A two kilometer section of the former Victorian Railways branch line from Red Cliffs to Morkalla has been converted into 610 millimeter gauge for tourist train operations.

In 2004, the railway purchased a diesel locomotive named 'Harry' to regularly share running days with 'Lukee' and to also give the Railway the flexibility of one off specials.

The railway operates on the first Sunday of the Month except January and February. It also operates on the Sundays of Victorian Labour Day, the Queen's Birthday, long weekends, and Easter Sunday.
