The RP20BD is one of five GenSet locomotive models in R. J. Corman Railpower Locomotives' RP Series locomotive product line. Railpower reorganized in early 2009 and R. J. Corman Railroad Group purchased the company's assets and renamed it R. J. Corman Railpower Locomotives. The RP20BD model features three 670 HP Deutz engines. Together, these three engines nominally produce 2000 HP. The RP20 can be built on a variety of locomotive frames; including GE, EMD, and Railpower. The RP20BD is a 4-axle, while the RP20CD is a 6-axle locomotive. Some Railpower customers include UP, which rosters RP20BD and RP20CD models at multiple locations. Other RP20BDs are rostered by G&W properties. NS and CSX roster multiple, and ME&T is fully powered by, RP Series GenSet locomotives. RP Series GenSet locomotives also operate at several other railroads, ports, and industrial sites.
