Red Gauntlet is a maroon 0-4-0 petrol-mechanical locomotive.


History[]

Red Gauntlet was built in 1964 by Jacot(Company, Location or Person?) and was later rebuilt by Alan Keef limited or at least completed in 1975. Red Gauntlet currently operated on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway and is used mostly as the carriage works shunter.[1][2]


Trivia[]

  • Information about Red Gauntlet is scarce, being an enigma and is the least known RH&DR locomotive.
  • Red Gauntlet's design resembles that of a standard Ruston Hornsby locomotive.
