Simplex is a green 0-4-0 diesel-mechanical locomotive.

History[]

Simplex was built in 1938 by Motor Rail limited for the Eaton Hall Railway where it operated until the railway closed in 1946. Simplex moved to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway where it gained the name Simplex and was numbered PW1. After emerging from overhaul at John Fowler Engineering in 2022, it is now back at New Romney, though recently has not seen use due to a failure.[1][2]
