J.B. Snell is a black and yellow Bo-Bo diesel-mechanical locomotive.

History[]

J.B. Snell was built in 1983 by TMA Engineering limited for the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway. Originally is was named John Southland but was later renamed after the railway's past director and general manager. After having failed on a trip from Hythe, she has had a major overhaul from the maintenance team and is now back in passenger service.[1][2][3][4]

Trivia[]

  • The ordering of J.B. Snell was inspired by the successful trials taken by the Shelagh of Eskdale from the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway on the RH&DR.
