Portland & Western No. 1854 (formerly known as Southern Pacific No. 4433) was an EMD SD7 that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Southern Pacific Railroad in April 1955.

History[]

Portland and Western No. 1854 was manufactured in April 1955 for the Southern Pacific Railroad originally as Southern Pacific No. 4433 and was delivered to the Southern Pacific Railroad that same year in 1955.

When it was first built, it was first numbered as 5426, but would be renumbered to 3904 and then it was later given its final number of 4433.

It remained in service on the Southern Pacific until it would be retired from service and later given a private railroad known as LLW where it retained its number of 4433 until it was given to the Portland and Western Railroad (PNWR) for preservation, where it was renumbered to 1854.

As of today, Portland and Western No. 1854, along with other locomotives 1501, 1801, 1803, and 1852 have been sidelined due to G&W's EPA scandal.
