Pixie is a 2 ft gauge W.G. Bagnall 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive.
History[]
Pixie worked with the Cranford Quarry until 1962 when the quarry shut down their railway and had her locked away in a shed. The Reverend Teddy Boston purchased her that same year and brought her to work on his Cadeby Light Railway, which he built in the rectory of the "All Saint's Church" in Cadeby, Leicestershire.
Pixie was the star attraction at Cadeby, riding tourists along a short section of track built around the church garden. The Rev. Teddy Boston died in 1986, and his widow continued the operation of the light railway until 2005. Teddy's collection was split up and sold, with Pixie being picked up by a private owner associated with the Moseley Railway Trust, who intended on overhauling her. However, as of 2014, Pixie's rebuild was not yet complete.[1]
As of July 27, 2019, she has been bought by the Richmond Light Railway with the intention to finally finish restoring her back to operating condition.[2]
