The Pere Marquette Class N-2 was a class of 2-8-4 "Bershire" type steam locomotives that were built by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio for the Pere Marquette Railway in 1944.

History[]

A total of twelve examples of what had became the Pere Marquette Class N-2 were ever constructed by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio and they were all delivered to the Pere Marquette Railway in 1944.

All examples were added to the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway's roster when the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway had acquired the Pere Marquette Railway. They were all retired from active service on the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, and not a single one of the Pere Marquette Class N-2 were preserved, they were all scrapped in 1958, thus rendering them extinct.

All that's left of the Pere Marquette Class N-2 are two surviving Pere Marquette Class N-1 locomotives Nos. 1223 and 1225.
