The Pere Marquette Class N-1 locomotives are 2-8-4 "Berkshire" types that were built by the Lima Locomotive Works in the early 1940's. 1225 and 1223 were built in Late 1941 and are the last surviving Pere Marquette steam locomotives in the world. It was also in the book with the same title. The speed for the Class N-1 is 70 Miles an Hour. 1223 remains on display in Grand Haven, Michigan.
