Pentewan Railway 'Pioneer' was a 2-6-2 saddle tank locomotive.
History[]
Pioneer was built in 1903 by the Yorkshire Engine Company as works number 757 originally for the Chattenden and Upnor Railway where Pioneer operated until 1905 when it was transferred to the Woolmer Instructional Military Railway where Pioneer continued to operate until 1912 when it was sold to the Pentewan Railway in Cornwall arriving at St Austell on the 6th of May in 1912. The Pentewan Railway closed in 1918 it is unknown what Pioneer's real fate is however it was likely scrapped shortly after the closer.
