Pennsylvania Railroad Class DD2

The Pennsylvania Railroad Class DD2 was a prototype electric locomotive that was built for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

It was intended as an improved and simplified GG1 for use on the planned, but was never built, extension of the PRR's electrication west Harrisburg, PA.

It was built in 1938, and was scrapped in 1962.

Trivia[]

The style is similar to the Pennsylvania Railroad Class GG1 which also had a fewer driving wheels then the GG1s.
