The Park Royal Railbus was a series of five diesel railbuses that were built by Derby Works for British Rail in 1958.
History[]
In all, a total of five examples of what had became the Park Royal Railbuses were ever constructed, these diesel railbuses were built by Derby Works in 1958 and they all had entered service on the lines that were operated by British Rail the same year in 1958.[1]
The Park Royal Railbuses had a mechanical transmission fitted to them when they were built.
The five railbuses were all withdrawn from active service between 1966 and 1968, and not a single one of the five were preserved, they were all scrapped, thus rendering them extinct.
All that's left of the five Park Royal Railbuses are four surviving Waggon and Maschinenbau Railbuses.
