The PKP Class SP47 was a class of two diesel locomotives built by H. Cegielski - Poznań S.A. for the Polish State Railways in 1975 and 1977.

History[]

Only two locomotives of what had became the PKP Class SP47 were ever constructed, with SP47-001 being built in 1975, and SP47-002 being built in 1977.

Both locomotives were constructed by H. Cegielski - Poznań S.A. and they were delivered to the Polish State Railways the same year they were built.

SP47-002 had suffered badly from an engine failure which resulted in it being retired in 1998 and scrapped in 2001, leaving SP47-001 behind.

Preservation[]

SP47-001 had survived into preservation and was donated to the Railway Museum in Kościerzyna (Skansen Parowozownia Kościerzyna) where it still stands there to this day.
