2153 was a class Y6 steam locomotive built for the Norfolk & Western by its Roanoke Shops in 1940. Like other Y6s 2153 was used primarily on slow heavy goods on the mountainous Pocahontas, Radford and Shenandoah Divisions. On the 15th December 1955 its boiler exploded in Wytheville, Virginia. After that its unknown ift 2153 was rebuilt but like its siblings it was scrapped in the 1950s.
