
765 is waiting to leave with a passenger train
The Nickel Plate Road Class S-2 locomotives are 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotives that were built in the 1940's by Lima. They pulled trains until the 1950's. 765 pulled mixed trains until 1958 and was restored to operation in 1979. Locomotive 770 is in the scrapyard with 767. 765, 763, 759, 755, 779 and 757 are one of the last surviving S-2 locomotives in the world. NKP 765 is the only operating NKP S-2 Berkshire to be operate today
