The New York Central Class B-60 were a series of Shay steam locomotive built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1923 for the New York Central railroad. They were not known to conduct logging operations, but its 1940 roster listed five Shay type locomotives, Nos. 7185-7189 (originally numbered 1896-1900) which were all used on the West Side freight line in New York City, primarily on street trackage on 10th and 11th Avenues.

An old city ordinance required them to be covered in a full body enclosure to avoid frightening horses, and they also had to be preceded by a horse and rider when operating in the street.

By 1934 most of the street trackage was removed and the West Side line was electrified. The Shays were replaced by box-cab diesels that could also run from third-rail electrification or on battery power. They were then transferred to the western part of New York State for use on an industrial line for the Genessee Falls Railway and the Owasco River Railway.

Nos. 7185-7189 were taken out of service in the early 1940s and were all scrapped.
