Setskogen is a 2-6-2 side tank steam locomotive.



History[]

Setskogen was built in 1909 by the Richard Hartmann Locomotive Works (Later Sächsische Maschinenfabrik) of Germany for operation of the Urskog–Høland railway in Norway. This railway was taken over by the Norwegian State Railways in 1945 and classed . It continued to operate on the railway until it's closure in 1961. Setskogen was preserved and ran on the preserved Urskog–Høland Line until around 2015. It was restored to working condition in 2023, and is running to current day.[1][2][3][4][5]

  • It is a common misconception that Setskogen is of the NSR XXIXa class.
