History

No.1 was built by Dübs and company of Scotland in 1894 as builders number 3172 along with it's sibling No.2 for the Norwegian State Railways Setesdal Line being the first of the NSR's XXI class. It was slightly renovated in 1938 with an added spark arrestor and new head lamp among other small modifications. No.1 was preserved after the Setesdal Line was closed in 1962 and is currently in storage awaiting restoration at the Setesdal preserved railway which runs much of the length of the original route.
