History[]

The XXIX class are a class of three side tank 2-6-2 locomotives. They were designed specially for the Urskog–Høland line where they operated for the entirety of their career until the line was closed in 1961.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10]

XXIXa Class[]

The XXIX subclass was a class of two side tank 2-6-2 locomotives numbered 5 and 6. They were the first of the XXIX class.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10]

XXIXb Class[]

The XXIX subclass was a class of one side tank 2-6-2 locomotive numbered 7. It was one of the last steam locomotives built for the Norwegian State Railways.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10]

Preservation[]

All three members of the class ever built are preserved. No.5 the first of the class constructed is displayed in Trondheim, Norway while the other two class members are operational on the preserved Urskog–Høland line museum railway.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]^[9]^[10]
