The Norwegian State Railways XXII Class are 2-4-2 side tank steam locomotive.

History

The XXII class are a class of three side tank 2-4-2 locomotives designed specially for the Setesdal Line of the Norwegian State Railways. In total three were built two by Dübs and company and the last by Thunes Mechanical Workshop. Despite being smaller then the XXI class the XXII class are faster.

Preservation

Only one of the class survived into preservation after the railways closure in 1962 that loco being No.6. No.6 was operation until around 2020 when it's boiler ticket expired. It will eventually get an overhaul.
