Hugin is a 2-4-0 side tank steam locomotive.



History[]

Hugin was built in 1881 by the Motala Workshop of Sweden as builder's number 43 for the Norwegian State Railways as part of their IV class and numbered 10. It was preserved by the Norwegian State Railways Museum and in 1973 placed on display in the station lobby of Stavanger Station. Until the 17th of June in 2014 when it was moved to a prepared area for display in the NSR Museum's main museum complex for display where it currently resides in Hamar.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]



Trivia[]

  • Some sources list Hugin's name as Odin this is incorrect as Hugin is the name of a raven who would provide news to the god Odin in Norse/Germanic mythology.[1][4]
