History[]

No.376 was built in 1919 by NOHAB for the Norwegian State Railways as part of their 21c subclass. It operated until 1971 clearing snow on the Namsos line becoming one of the last steam locomotives (along with two others) to be withdrawn from the NSR. No.376 was sold to the Kent and East Sussex Railway and went under it's own steam to Oslo where it was shipped to the United Kingdom. Where it was named Norwegian. It has been under overhaul since 2019.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]

The locomotive is named Norwegian purely due to it's country of origin.
