19 was a class Y 0-6-0 steam locomotive originally built as LMS 3F "Jinty" 16636 and served as a shunting engine for the LMS intill it and a sibling (No. 16539) were offered to the NCC During World War II, the NCC was very short of shunting motive power and as no new engines were available, three engines were transferred from the Dundalk, Newry and Greenore Railway (DNGR). The DNGR engines were not a success and the NCC turned to the parent LMS for help. And the engines that were picked were 16539 and 16636.
